A little trip back to the 2020 archives… and LOOK at that eye! 👁️✨

This beautiful Barramundi Cod was photographed at Saxon Reef, and revisiting these older images has been surprisingly fascinating.

Not just because of the subjects, but because I can see how much my photography has changed over the years. Composition, lighting, camera technique… even the way I edit an image now is quite different.

It’s a nice reminder that photography really is a continual evolution.

And this gorgeous protected reef resident was definitely worth rediscovering. 💙

Wally from the archives 💙🐟

Back to Norman Reef in 2020 with one of my all-time favourite reef characters.

Wally really was such a cool fish.

So much personality, so curious, and seemingly very happy to have his photo taken. 📸😂

Some fish keep their distance. Wally seemed to think the camera was there specifically for him.

And honestly... he may have been right. 😄

Turtle Tuesday, because the reef is always better

Turtle Tuesday, because the reef is always better with a turtle in it. 🐢✨

There’s something wonderfully calm about watching a green turtle cruise effortlessly over the reef, completely unbothered by the rest of us floating around with cameras. 😂

This beauty gave me a few gorgeous passes and, naturally, I took full advantage.

I do love these guys… when it’s NOT mating season. 🤣🐟

This Titan Triggerfish was taking a break at a cleaning station, letting the little cleaner wrasse get to work.

They’re such impressive fish, powerful, beautifully patterned and full of character.

During nesting season though? Entirely different personality. 😂

Let’s just say I give them a very respectful amount of personal space.

Tiny fish, enormous personality. ❤️🐟

This gorgeous Spinecheek Anemonefish was posing beautifully at Club 10, Milln Reef — and judging by that face, I’m fairly sure it knew exactly how photogenic it was. 😂

I love these little reef characters. Bright, bold and always full of attitude, they’re impossible to swim past without stopping for a few shots.

A school of Bumphead Parrotfish crunching their way across the reef is one of those underwater experiences you don’t forget.

These reef bulldozers play an important role in the ecosystem by grazing on coral and algae, helping shape the reef as they feed.

And yes… they poop sand. 🤣🏖️

A surprising amount of the tropical sand we love comes from parrotfish processing bits of reef through their digestive system.

I may have got a little carried away this year… and created THREE limited editions underwater A4 calendars for 2027. 🤣🌊

🐋 Beneath the Blue
A mix of favourite underwater encounters from the Great Barrier Reef, Philippines and Tonga, from tiny reef residents to turtles, mantas, Wally the Māori Wrasse and humpback whales.

🐢 Reef Turtles
Twelve months devoted to one of my favourite reef residents, photographed cruising, resting and exploring the reefs of Far North Queensland.

🐠 Among the Anemones
A colourful collection of anemonefish, featuring different species and some spectacular anemones from Australia, Fiji and the Philippines.

The calendars are going to print now, with delivery expected late October to early November.

Each calendar is A4, printed on high-quality card with spiral binding, and features 12 of my underwater photographs.
